Course Description
This course provides the family nurse practitioner student with foundational clinical experiences for patients across the lifespan in primary care settings. Students develop and apply critical thinking skills to formulate differential diagnoses, diagnoses, treatment plans, and evaluation strategies. Emphasis is placed on building the history-taking, physical examination, and clinical reasoning skills foundational to advanced practice.

- Develop differential diagnoses based on health assessment including medical and social history, presenting symptoms, physical findings, and diagnostic information.

Course Description
This course provides the family nurse practitioner student with continuing clinical experiences for patients across the lifespan in primary care settings. Students build upon foundational skills from Practicum I, expanding care to include pediatric and adolescent populations. Students continue to develop critical thinking, differential diagnosis formulation, and treatment planning, with increasing attention to family and cultural context.

Course Description
This course provides continuing clinical experiences for patients across the lifespan in primary care. The focus expands to include women's health and the care of patients with more complex and chronic health conditions. Students continue to refine diagnostic reasoning, treatment planning, and collaborative practice skills as they progress toward greater independence.

Course Description
This capstone clinical practicum provides the family nurse practitioner student with advanced clinical experiences across the full lifespan in primary care settings. As the final and most intensive practicum (4 credits, 240 patient contact hours), students are expected to demonstrate a high level of independent clinical reasoning and comprehensive management of complex, multi-system health problems. Students integrate knowledge across all prior coursework and demonstrate readiness for autonomous advanced practice.

- Independently develop differential diagnoses and evidence-based treatment plans for complex, multi-system illness in primary care.

- Apply family and nursing theories to provide culturally competent, patient- and family-centered care.
- Demonstrate readiness for independent advanced practice as a family nurse practitioner, integrating DNP-level leadership and evidence-based decision-making into clinical care.
